Bars and Restaurants Open on New Year's Day in Portland

In many ways, January 1 is the best day of the year. A clean slate awaits, and it’s easy to imagine doing anything and accomplishing everything. However, it’s can also be a tough day — especially for those of us who took advantage of New Year’s Eve parties the night before.

Happily, plenty of bars will be open and serving on New Year’s Day. Check out our list to find out where to cure your hangover with hair of the dog brunch specials or set a precedent for the year with a great night out. Happy 2013!

Ash Street Saloon: Open 4 PM–2 AM with happy hour through 8 PM.

Ate-Oh-Ate: Open 11 AM–9 PM.

Bar Vivant / Pix Patisserie: Open 2 PM–2 AM.

Bare Bones Bar: Open 2 PM–2 AM.

Bare Bones Cafe: Open from 9 AM–9 PM.

Bartini/Urban Fondue: Open regular hours.

The Beer Mongers: Open at 11 AM.

Besaw’s: Open 8 AM–3 PM with brunch specials and 5–10 PM with regular menu.

Bunk Sandwiches: Open regular hours at both East Side locations.

The Country Cat: Open 9 AM–2 PM and 5 PM–close.

Eat: An Oyster Bar: Open at 10 AM with special brunch including a complimentary serving of black-eyed peas, cornbread and cabbage for health, wealth and luck in the new year.

Enso Winery: Open 4–10 PM.

Fratelli: Open regular hours.

Galaxy Lounge: Open regular hours.

Gigantic Brewing: Open 3–9 PM.

Grand Central Bowl: Open regular hours with Rose Bowl specials.

Ground Kontrol: Open regular hours.

Henry’s 12th Street Tavern: Open 11 AM–10 PM.

The High Dive: Open regular hours for Taco Tuesday with $1 tacos and $5 fresh-squeezed margaritas from 4 PM.

H.U.B.: Open 11 AM–11 PM.

Hopworks BikeBar: Open 11 AM–11 PM.

Interurban: Open 4 PM–2:30 AM.

The Jack London: Open 11 AM–2 AM.

Jinx Lounge: Open regular hours.

Laurelhurst Market: Open regular hours.

Le Bistro Montage: Open 6 PM–2 AM.

Lompoc Brewing: Open regular hours.

The Mash Tun: Open noon–midnight with $2 house pints and well drinks, $8 house pitchers and $1 Old German tallboys.

Mississippi Studios: Open at noon with happy hour specials all day.

Mother’s Bistro: Open for traditional pajama brunch.

On Deck Sports Bar: Open at 9 AM with football games, $4.25 Stella Artois drafts, $6 Crown Royal and Buffalo Trace cocktails and brunch through 2 PM with $5 Smirnoff Bloody Marys.

The Original: Open 8 AM–7 PM serving brunch through 2 PM; drink specials all day.

Pope House Bourbon Lounge: Open regular hours.

Prost: Open 11:30 AM–2:30 AM.

Radio Room: Open 9 AM–2 AM with full brunch through 2 PM including Bloody Mary bar.

Rialto Corner Bar & OTB: Open 11 AM–2 AM.

Rialto Pool Room: Open 11 AM–2 AM.

Roscoe’s: Open regular hours.

Rose and Thistle: Open 3 PM–2:30 AM.

Sapphire Hotel: Open regular hours.

Seres Restaurant: Open 3–10 PM.

Slabtown: Open 5:30 PM–2:30 AM.

Slappy Cakes: Open regular hours.
