Where to Celebrate Oktoberfest 2016 in Portland
Oktoberfest in Portland seems to last an arbitrary amount of time, from somewhere around September 15th with events all the way to October 8th. We’ve already passed the initial parties, but we’ve rounded up the remaining ones for all of your beer drinking, sausage eating, lederhosen wearing needs. Let us know where you plan on celebrating the spirit of Deutschland at our Facebook or Twitter.

Oktoberfest
Now - Tuesday, October 4
The Loyal Legion (710 SE 6th Ave.; 503-235-8272)
This beer hall has already started its Oktoberfest service, but it will continue to do so through the end of the month and until October 4th. This fantastic Oregon-beer taphouse has teamed up with Occidental Brewing to serve some special holiday brews, as well as brought in the chef from the now closed German restaurant Grüner for food specials. Come in and grab a brat and a lager for reduced prices, and keep an eye out for any end of the month parties.

Bavarian Beer Garden
September 30th - October 2nd
Prost! (4237 N Mississippi Ave.; 503-954-2674)
This is one of Portland’s best taphouses, and, along with its sister restaurant in SE, Stammtisch, the spot for German beer. It always throws an amazing party for the holiday, and this year is looking to be no exception, closing out the month by turning the Mississippi Marketplace into a Bavarian beer garden, complete with a beer truck serving special German Oktoberfest beers on tap. The team will also be bringing the grill outside for bratwurst, grilled chicken, and pork, as well as salads, pretzels, and more. Games, kid’s face painting, and live music will all be included as well.

Food, Beer, and Music
Saturday, October 8
McMenamin’s Grand Lodge (3505 Pacific Ave. Forest Grove; 503-992-9533)
Oktoberfest is going late this year, at least at McMenamin’s. If you just can’t get enough bratwursts, you’ll have one last chance on October 8th at the Grand Lodge in Forest Grove. More beer, food, face painting, and live music await you here for one last Oktoberfest party, and if you need to, you can always stay at the hotel (provided there’s room).

12th Annual Widmer Brothers Brewing Oktoberfest
Saturday, October 8, 12-9 PM
Pioneer Courthouse Square (715 SW Morrison St.; 503-223-1613)
Grab your tickets for a festival for true beer lovers. Widmer favorites will be on tap all day long such as their Hefeweizen, Steel Bridge Porter, Upheaval IPA, PDX Pils, Okto Fesival Ale, and special small batch brews only available to sample at the festival. Tickets start at $25 and include tons of German food and a concert from X AMBASSADORS
