As Dungeness crab season hits its stride, celebrate the bounty of Oregon's coast at the eighth annual Portland Seafood and Wine Festival. This year's event is set to take place Feburary 1-2 at the Oregon Convention Center on MLK Boulevard. Head over from 2–10 PM on Friday or noon–10 PM on Saturday to take advantage of food samples from $1, 50-cent wine samples and lots of activities, including sand sculpture demos, a celebrity crab cracking contest, talks on wine, beer and live music. There's even a play area for the kids.

The first 300 people to arrive will recieve this year's commemorative wine glass. Tickets (available at the door) run $12 for adults or $10 for seniors and kids under 16 (under 5 years gets in free). In addition to providing great seafood and wine, the festival is also a great fundraiser — 50 cents from every ticket goes directly to the Oregon Chapter of the National Multple Sclerosis Society.
