Where to Watch: Election Night Parties and Drink Specials in Portland
On Election Day (Tuesday, November 6), Americans across the country participate in the important action of casting votes for candidates from President to local elected offices. On Election Night, Americans across the country participate in the national pastime of watching talking heads trying to keep you interested as results dribble in. What better way to pass the time than with a couple of drinks? Make sure you vote (find out where), and then afterwards head to one of these bars where you can keep abreast of the latest poll news with a brew, wine or cocktail in hand.
Bazi: After regular happy hour ends at 7 PM, special Election Night drink deals will be offered through close.
Beulahland: Election results will play on the big screens, and special deals on drinks and food will be offered.
Binks: Election results will play with sound, and drink specials depend on Ohio: if Obama is projected to win the state you’ll get $1 off any drinks $5 or less (subsidize the poor) and if it looks like Romney gets Ohio, look for $1 off any drinks over $5 (subsidize the rich).
Caffe Allora: Election Night party with results playing on two TVs with sound, plus specials on food and cocktails.
Dig A Pony: Election results will play all night, and free glasses of Champagne will be given out if Obama wins.
Grand Central Bowl: Join the Willamette Week party with results playing on the TV, games, raffles, cardboard-candidate photos and special Absolut vodka politics-themed cocktails.
The High Dive: Election coverage will be on TV, during happy hour (4–7 PM) and all night long.
Hopworks BikeBar and Hopworks Urban Brewery: Election results will be shown all evening.
Hoyt New American Tavern: Bartenders will create custom cocktails named after both candidates, which will be on special all night.
Madison’s Grill: Election results will be playing on the big screen, happy hour specials will run from 3–8 PM and special political-themed cocktails will be on offer.
Mash Tun Brew Pub: Election results will be shown on the big screen, and look for $2 house pints and $2 well drinks all day long.
Migration Brewing: Regular happy hour runs through 6 PM, Bingo starts at 7 PM and results will be playing on both TVs throughout the night.
Mississippi Studios: Happy hour will be extended through 9 PM.
North 45 Pub: Election results will be on the TVs and food and drink specials will be offered through 9 PM closing time.
Oba: Election results will play live in the lounge all evening.
On Deck: Occupy Portland will be holding an Election Night party, with featured bipartisan cocktails and happy hour specials from 3:30 PM–close.
Radio Room: Food and drink specials will be offered and election results will play on the big screen and in the lounge will sound.
Riffle NW: NPR/OPB’s election coverage will stream live on the sound system and on the projection TV and a special menu includes a $6 Election Punch from 5 PM–close.
Roscoe’s: “Vote for Your Favorite Imperial IPA” by ordering a special blind four-beer tasting flight of Russian River Pliny the Elder, Bear Republic Racer X, Green Flash Imperial IPA and Fort George Omegatex.
Saraveza and Bad Habit Room: Live results will be shown on dual screens along with a special edition of Quizaveza, starting at 7 PM. From 8–9 PM, airings of The Daily Show and Colbert Report’s election coverage will play back to back, and plenty of Coalition Brewing’s Wheat the People will be available to go around.
Seres Restaurant: Happy hour will run all night long, and there’s a special take-out Election Night dinner special of complimentary fried rice, appetizer or soup with an order of two entrees.
Slabtown: A “Pre-Riot Party & Dissident Fashion Show” kicks off at 5 PM, featuring “state-controlled alcohol,” “viewing of potentially fraudulent results” and an anarchist fashion show.
Three Degrees: One TV will be tuned to Fox News and one to MSNBC, and blue and red jello shots will be offered, along with happy hour specials all night.
