Kickstarter Alert: Hop in the Saddle Needs Funding Help
The three women behind Hop in the Saddle, a new guide to the Portland bicycling and craft beer scene, have described the pairing adequately: “It doesn’t get more Portland.” From the 15-person brewery-touring BrewCycle to Hopworks BikeBar, the enticing possibilities to combine beer and cycling in this city are only growing.
This new textbook for bikers and boozers features five Portland beer routes, five “Bike Nerd Extended Routes,” and includes five cue sheets, as well as overviews of 25 breweries, six bottle shops and 25 bars.
But Hop in the Saddle needs your help. Before all the knowledge is released, the authors need to raise $15,000 in less than a month to cover costs of production. Help get this project past the hurdle by donating through Kickstarter.
The three enthusiasts behind this must-have guide are Lucy Burningham, a writer who covers drink and travel for many publications (Bicycling, Lonely Planet, Savuer), Ellee Thalheimer, a freelance travel writer and cycle tourist (Lonely Planet’s Cycling Italy, Cycling Sojourner: A Guide to the Best Multi-day Tours in Oregon) and Laura Cary who is a graphic designer (Cary Design Group).
Toss the trio a few bucks, in the name of two of the best things in Portland.
