Oregon Garden Brewfest, April 27-28
This weekend, Silverton, OR will host the eighth annual Oregon Garden Brewfest, which sees more than 30 breweries from throughout the Pacific Northwest offering several varieties of craft brew to thirsty attendees. Nearly 100 brews and ciders will be available to sample over two days, including tasty favorites like BridgePort Brewing’s Kingpin, Hopworks IPA and Alameda Black Bear XX Stout. Check out the full list here.
Advance tickets are available for $15 for Friday or Saturday (or $25 for both days), which bring admission to the noon–11 PM fest at the Grand Hall at The Oregon Garden, as well as seven tasting tickets plus a commemorative tasting mug. (If you wait to buy a ticket at the door, you’ll get only five tickets for your $15.) Additional tasting tickets will be available on-site for $1 each (a full glass is four tickets’ worth).
Several events will take place during each day of the festival, including live music, lessons on beer tasting, a beer trivia game, the homebrew competition awards ceremony and other distractions to enhance your imbibing. If you’re planning to head down for the weekend, consider going a day early to attend the Brewers’ tasting dinner at 7 PM on Thursday, April 26. For just $40, you’ll partake in a six-course feast, each dish paired with an appropriate craft brew, and get to hear from many of the brewmasters themselves.
