PBR is Making Its Own Whiskey For the Perfect Shot & Beer Combo
According to Esquire, Pabst Blue Ribbon has filed documents to create its very own whiskey, making for the perfect shot & beer combo.
Documents filed with the TTB (the acronym for the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau) indicate that PBR is teaming up with New Holland Brewing Co., complete with a label for the whiskey that say the recipe is made using ingredients chosen in 1844 by Jacob Best, the founder of the company that evetually became Pabst.
The whiskey isn't available yet, nor is there any official word on when that might happen, but the label says the finished product will be 80 proof, made with a mash of corn and malted barley, and, somewhat cryptically, "aged 5 seconds ago," so maybe the whiskey will be more of a moonshine than a sour mash or rye. In any case, it'll be the perfect shot to pair with your PBR once it hits shelves.
