Lompoc Brewery Hosts Kung-Fu and IPA Night
This Thursday, May 25 at 4 PM and 7 PM, Lompoc Brewery will be releasing six new IPAs at Sidebar on North Williams. In addition, guests will be treated to a screening of The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, considered to be one of Kung-Fu cinema’s greatest hits.
The IPAs are all named with a Kung-Fu movie theme in mind: Drunken Panda, Enter the Dank, 5 Hops of Death, Hoppy Tiger - Bitter Dragon, Ip Man, and The 36th Chamber of IPA. Tasting trays are $8 and include all six beers, and will be available starting at 4 PM. At 7 PM, the brewery will show The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, a 1978 Shaw Brothers kung fu film directed by Liu Chia-liang and starring Gordon Liu. The film follows a highly fictionalized version of San Te, a legendary Shaolin martial arts disciple who trained under the general Chi Shan, and is widely considered to be one of the greatest kung fu films of all time. The event has no cover.
