BrewDog's Latest Project is a Crowdfunded Craft Beer Hotel
BrewDog is back in the news, this time with something that is just as if not more intriguing than the taxidermied squirrel beer. Introducing: the craft beer hotel.
The publicly owned Scottish brewery announced their plans to crowdfund a craft beer hotel at their Ohio site, called the “Dog House” via Indiegogo less than week ago. Since then, the campaign has reached over 200% of its original $75,000 goal.
The extravagant amenities listed on the fundraising site could be the cause of the attention. Some of them include beer themed spa treatments like hop face masks and malted barley massages, beer breakfasts, beer themed hotel rooms, Punk IPA taps and shower beer refrigerators in every room, and a beer hot tub built with oak barrels once used to age beer placed somewhere in the hotel. The plans also include a separate sour beer brewing facility.
Now, is all, or even any of this realistic? Who knows. BrewDog lists on their site that the project will cost $6 million to complete the hotel and sour brewery which they’re calling a rival to Disneyland as the “hoppiest place on Earth.”
BrewDog currently owns the property where they plan on building the facilities at their location in Columbus, Ohio. The company has raised over $3.75 million from their Equity for Punks campaign to date.
