Where to Watch Super Bowl LI in Portland
Century Bar
Portland’s most stylish sports bars “that’s not a sports bar” will be showing the big game on its massive screens. Afterwards, enjoy a dance party with DJ Nature, as well as some specials on food and drinks all day. If you avoid meat this is definitely the place to go: Century may be the only place in town with vegan buffalo wings for the game. (930 SE Sandy Blvd.; 503-208-2884)
Punch Bowl Social
Portland’s favorite megabar is busting out all sorts of fun for the big game, including a $5 appetizer buffet during the game, and both happy hour and ½ price gaming all day long, from bowling to darts and pool. (340 SW Morrison St., third floor; 503-334-0360)
Brix Tavern
Brix Tavern is bringing it for Super Bowl 51 with a Pong tournament as well as quarterly prizes and giveaways, including a 55” flat-screen TV, docking station, iPod, and a Go Pro. All of the Brix food and drinks will be available, with happy hour starting just before kick off. Make sure to get reservations, as this event is liable to sell out. (1338 NW Hoyt St.; 503-943-5995)
Bacchus Bar
In the Hotel Vintage, Bacchus Bar will be hosting a Super Bowl watch party, extending up to the game room and the four TVs upstairs. The bar will open early at 2:30 PM with all day happy hour including half price beer and wine, as well as cocktail specials (one for the Patriots and one for the Falcons). In addition to game days classics for food, guests can order signature pizzas and other items off the regular menu. Tickets will be given with each drink purchase for end-of-quarter raffle drawings and viewers can pass time at the pool table and with shuffleboard. (422 SW Broadway; 503-228-1212)
Loyal Legion
One of Portland’s best beer bars normally doesn’t show games, but for the Super Bowl, Loyal Legion is bringing in some screens. In addition, the staff will be whipping up some hot wings, and presenting some beer and boiler-maker specials, all the better to toast your team’s victory, or assuage your grief at their defeat. (710 SE 6th Ave.; 503-235-8272)
Pearl Tavern
Of course the bar owned by former professional quarterback-turned-philanthropist Joey Harrington is going to be showing the Big Game. Settle in for some snacks and some of Ryan Magarian’s famous cocktails, and you might even see Harrington himself around the bar. The game will be shown on all five TVs behind the bar, as well as on a large screen projector, and speakers throughout the restaurant will assure that guests won’t miss any commentary. Come in early for brunch, or anytime during or after the game for the dinner menu. (231 NW 11th Ave.; 954-3796)
The Independent Sports Bar and Grill
With 32 screens and one giant projector, there’s no way you’ll miss a moment of the game at The Independent Sports Bar and Grill. A bottomless taco bar, 20+ taps, and $5 margaritas means you won’t be going hungry or thirsty, either. Stick around after the game for a raffle with fun prizes, and be sure to dress up: Football apparel is strongly encouraged, and the best dressed wins a 40” Samsung Smart TV. (225 SW Broadway #100; 503-206-6745)
The Station
The Station, one of Portland’s most dog friendly bars, is also a great spot to watch Super Bowl 51. Two large projectors and five HD TVs will be broadcasting the game, and the bar is open seating. However, for the full experience, make a reservation: $15 gets you a reserved seat, a bucket of Rainier, your choice of nachos or wings, and a pizza. There will also be a Super Bowl board game, where you can win more Rainier themed prizes. Reservations are available by phone or email at info@stationpdx.com. (2703 NE Alberta St.; 503-284-4491)
