Birroteca Hosts Spring Swish, March 28

Spring brings with it the advent of the year’s notable drink events in Baltimore. While we are absolutely ready for some of our annual favorites (City Paper Brewfest, Brew at the Zoo and Decanter Wine Festival, our eyes are on you) we are beyond excited for the new series of events at Birroteca, kicking off on March 28.

Spring Swish will be the inaugural event for the seasonal series that will continue throughout the year. The spring event will be focused on American Whiskey, Rye Beers, Barrel Aged Beers and… wait for it… Birroteca’s famous, slow roasted Suckling Pig. Whiskey, beer, pork? We’re in.

In addition, they will have a handful of American Craft Whiskey Distilleries on hand pouring samples while bartenders mix handcrafted whiskey cocktails and pour (unlimited!) samples of the featured beers.

Chef Jon will not only be roasting a whole pig, but sampling some delicious pork belly and spicy fennel sausage pizzas as well.

Here’s a roundup of what to expect, beverage wise:

Whiskeys: Copper Fox, Catoctin Creek, Lothan's, Stranahan's, Tincup American Whiskey (CO), Hudson, Rough Rider, Smooth Ambler, Wigle and more

Rye Beers: Union Craft Brewing Rye Baby, Monument City 51 Rye, Monacacy Riot Rye, Frey's Pussy Pilot Parade Black Rye IPA, Terrapin Mosaic Red Rye IPA, Yards Rye IPA, Lagunitas Scarecity 2 Imperial Cocao Rye Porter, Harpoon Rich & Dan's Rye IPA

Barrel Aged Beers: Evolution Craft Brewing Winter Migration, Duclaw Barrel Aged Brimstone, Oliver Barrel Aged Black Code, Yards George Washington Tavern Porter Reserve and a special release of vintage 2013 Laughing Dog Dogfather Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout

Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door (if they’re still available). Don’t have your friends texting you that they “swish you were here”...buy tickets now right here.

Can’t make it for Spring? Keep your eyes out for details on Summer Swish in June, focused around local beers featuring tons of cask ales, craft gin and gin cocktails.
