We write a lot about alcoholic drinks because: booze. But that’s not to say we don’t also over indulge in the N/A varieties, especially coffee. With so many roasters in town there’s never a shortage of java or even java-infused cocktails.

Highlighting the world of coffee in Portland and beyond is Coffee Fest, which takes place in Portland this year (instead of Seattle), from October 17–19 at the Oregon Convention Center. Coffee Fest has been the go-to tradeshow for those in the coffee industry since 1992.

Latte art competitions, a showdown for the best coffeehouse, best espresso competition and educational seminars will all go down over three, very caffeinated days. 

Not a part of the “coffee crowd” but still love coffee, or won’t be able to make it this year? We’ve gathered a few boozy and coffee charged drinks in Bridgetown for you to check out and one that we challenge you to make at home.

The Nudge

The Nudge, made from brandy, Crème de Cacao, Coffee Liqueur and French Press with whipped cream and cocoa, is more of a dessert than a coffee drink but hey, we’re not telling if you want to double-up

Affogato-Corretto

2 scoops vanilla ice cream

1 shot of espresso (or 1 1/2-2 oz drip coffee but seriously get outta here with that Keurig)
