Upstream Public Health, a nonprofit which advocates for public health policies will celebrate 10 years on June 4 from 6 – 9 PM at Left Bank Annex in North Portland with a healthy beer competition.
If you’re thinking there’s no such thing as healthy beer, open your mind to gluten-free brews made with organic ingredients. Healthy doesn’t always have to mean low calorie. Maybe you’re thinking healthy beer is a stretch, but even skeptics can’t ignore new one-offs from some of the best brewers in the area.
Boneyard Beer, Breakside Brewery, The Commons Brewery, Deschutes Brewery, Ecliptic Brewing, Harvester Brewing, Hopworks Urban Brewery, Migration Brewing, Oregon City Brewing, Pyramid Brewery and Widmer Brothers Brewing Co. will compete for the title of "Healthiest Beer" that will be featured on local taps around town.
The panel of judges will include Lisa Sedlar, Founder and CEO of Green Zebra Grocery; John Foyston author of "The Beer Here” column at OregonLive; and Sam Adams, Executive of the City Club and former Mayor of Portland.
General admission tickets are $75 each, or 4 for $250 and include beer, wine and appetizers. VIP tickets are $100, and with those you’ll get pre-event preview of beer tastings from 5 – 6 PM.
All proceeds from the event support Upstream Public Health.
