Edgefield's 13th Annual Syrah Celebration, April 11-12
Pinot Nior may be our go-to here in Oregon, but McMenamins has been making other styles, like Grenache and Viognie since 1992.
Edgefield’s 13th annual celebration of Syrah will begin April 11 at 6:30 PM with a Rhone White Reception, a pre-dinner featuring Viogniers and a feast prepared by Black Rabbit Executive Chef Kenny Giambalvo. Each course of the $95 dinner will be paired with seven Northwest style Syrahs.
The next afternoon, April 12 starting at 11 AM, get on board for the Tour du Rhone Lunch ($45). These courses will celebrate grapes from the Rhone region. Served in the Little Red Shed Fir Grove, the menu will draw on flavors from the south of France and will be paired with Rhone-style wines (Viognier, Syrah, Roussanne, Marsanne, Grenache, and more)
That Saturday afternoon, April 12 from 4 -7 PM, stick around for the Grand Syrah Tasting and Benefit Silent Auction ($45). This grand tasting will include 70 Syrah and Rhone varietals from the West Coast, France, and Australia. Look forward to hors d'oeuvres and the chance to bid on your favorites.
