Migration Brewing's New Expansion: More Space, Years and Beers
After acquiring the space that previously housed Blue Agave, Migration Brewing has added 2,000 square feet of space, including more outdoor patio space. The contract accompanying the addition grants Migration a position in the Buckman neighborhood for the next 20 years or so, according to McKean Banzer-Lausberg of Migration Brewing.
What does this mean for Portland? Our neighborhood brewery isn't going anywhere, anytime soon and it'll be making a ton more beer in 2014.
With that added space brings the opportunity for a new menu and more one-off and seasonal beers such as Cross Pollination (10.8% ABV), a champagne beer made with Belgian yeast, 65 pounds of local honey from Bee Local and Meridian hops.
Overall, the new “Annex” means the brewery will be able to produce up to 65% more beer (estimated at 2,000 barrels) in a location with even more seating and an additional kitchen.
We’re looking forward to the added room come patio season in Portland but until then we'll just have to watch the Trail Blazers dominate in Migration’s new digs.
