Feast Portland: 7 Don't-Miss Tasting Panels

In only its second year, Feast has become one of the biggest food and drink events in the nation. This year’s event will celebrate Oregon bounty, food and drink trends and nationally recognized chefs September 19-22. While you won’t want to miss the Friday Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting or the USA Pears Night Market there are still several cocktail and beer-related events you can jump on.

Wine vs. Beer: The Rematch
12:45–1:45 PM, Friday, September 20; $45
Portland Art Museum (Evans H. Roberts Sculpture Mall)
Get ready to stuff your face all in the name of calling a winner. Last year wine won for Pairing Master, and this year once again two teams will battle it out for this “libations smackdown.”

The Best Northwest Wines You Aren’t Drinking
2:30-3:30 PM, Friday, September 20; $45
Portland Art Museum (Evans H. Roberts Sculpture Mall)
Find a new favorite Northwest wine with help from those who know best—some of the wine industry’s leading personalities including Katherine Cole of the Oregonian and Scott Frank of Bow & Arrow Wines.

White Wines and the Shore Lines
2:30-3:30 PM, Saturday, September 21; $45
Portland Art Museum (Evans H. Roberts Sculpture Mall)
White wine and shramp! You know the combination here in Oregon. Wine and seafood are married. During this tasting panel, learn how to pair white wine with creatures from the sea.

Baby Got Beer-Back
4:15-5:15 PM, Saturday, September 21; $45
Portland Art Museum (Evans H. Roberts Sculpture Mall)
Even if it’s a tall boy of PBR and a shot of Old Crow, there’s something beautiful about the age-old whiskey and beer pairing. Find your favorite combination, and throw in some craft beer while you’re at it.

Beer Breakdown
12:45–1:45 PM, Saturday, September 21; $45
Portland Art Museum (Evans H. Roberts Sculpture Mall)
Discern what makes an IPA an IPA with the help of a panel of experts set up to teach you everything you need to know about tasting and smelling some of Portland’s best brews.

Clash of the Pinots: Oregon Vs. The Rest of the World
11 AM- 12 PM, Friday, September 20; $45
Portland Art Museum (Evans H. Roberts Sculpture Mall)
This panel full of wine experts puts Oregon wines up against self-appointed Burgundy for world’s number one region for Pinot Noir.

Aged and Infused
4:15-5:15, Friday, September 20; $45
Portland Art Museum (Evans H. Roberts Sculpture Mall)
Get up close and personal (and taste) barrel-aged and infused spirits with top spirit experts.
