Now in its ninth year, the Great American Distillers Festival highlights the talents of American distillers with tastings of hand-crafted rum, bourbon, whiskey, vodka and gin. Spirit vendors will offer product tasting as well as hand-crafted cocktails and recipes to take home. Proceeds from admission benefit the Oregon Distillers Guild. 

New events this year include the "After Dark" live music and dance party at the Emerald Ballroom ($10 admission), informative lunch about cooking with spirits lead by Melinda Casady, owner of Portland Culinary Workshop ($49, including admission into festival), and the opportunity to have dinner with the final four mixologists competing to win the event's beer cocktail competition ($59, including festival admission). 

Ride the bus or the MAX if possible — the mixologists aren't holding back.
