Wildwood Restaurant Showcases Local Oregon Vodkas
Ryan Csanky has a history of supporting local vodkas — he was once a distiller who made vodka exclusively from locally sourced ingredients like honey. He’s now bar manager at Wildwood Restaurant, where he’s bringing local spirits to the fore once again. Already well-known for housemade sodas, syrups and bitters, the bar now features several local vodkas, such as Skip Rock, New Deal and Bull Run Distilling’s Medoyeff.
A great example cocktail is the Zakuska. Made with Medoyeff vodka, Creme Yvette and Farigoule (a thyme liqueur), the drink is light, herbal and ready for spring. Zakusa is the Russian word for a “little bite” and — like an hors d’oeuvre — this cocktail is great before a meal. Csanky also used Medoyeff in a chive-infused vodka that was showcased at a party earlier this month.
This NW institution’s food menu does a great job of showcasing Oregon’s bounty with a classic farm-to-table philosophy, and now you can enjoy the same thing at the bar. Check out the vodkas and enjoy them neat paired with a bite to eat, or dig into the cocktail menu for an expert showcase.
