“The wedding industry doesn't often cater to LGBTQ couples, and this lack of representation can feel very isolating,” Joni Whitworth of Mint & Mirth explains. So, Whitworth and wife, Jennelle Barajas, started a company to make the process a bit less isolating.
We’ve sipped on these stylish and eye-catching cocktails at corporate events and boutique parties, but the small company’s focus is LGBTQ weddings and events.
“We're taking on a conservative industry and stirring things up a bit, and I love that,” Withworth explains, “People tell me that being queer isn't relevant to wedding bartending, but I think it is.”
Mint & Mirth’s cocktails are balanced, hence the name choice. “A truly balanced cocktail will pack a punch of both tart and bitter elements, and we wanted to represent that as well,” Joni says. In the end they came up with Mint & Mirth as the name for their small company because it “best brings to mind the freshness of mint, implies duality and ends on a merry note.”
Whatever your party or event needs might be, Mint & Mirth designs a signature cocktail specific to your party or wedding.
