5 of Portland's Most Beautiful and Impressive Bars |
2. The Lotus
The 30-foot cherry wood bar anchors The Lotus, whose storied history involves illegal operation during prohibition, back gambling rooms and an upstairs brothel. The physical bar, which dates back to the late 1800s, was built by Brunswick Company. While based in the United States, the company opted to ship the majestic bar -- a move that sent the bar around two continents and past Cape Horn, during a time before the Panama Canal was established.
