Grow Your Mo: Movember Events in Portland

Do you know where to find your local Mo Bros? Every November, a nationwide movement sees men shave clean at the beginning of the month and spend the next 30 days growing a moustache — aka a “mo.” The campaign’s goal is to raise awareness of (and funds for) men’s health issues, especially prostate and testicular cancer.

Several bars throughout Portland are hosting events to commemorate Movember, and you don’t have to be growing a mo to take part (Mo Sistas are welcome participants). Check out a list of where to get your facial-hair appreciation on and support a good cause along the way. Know of more events? Let us know on Twitter, Facebook or in the comments below.

TOMS Movember Launch Party
7–10 PM, November 6
Blake (26 NW 23rd Place)
A shave station by Bricks Barber will allow folks to get clean-faced, a whiskey lounge will provide tipples, good eats will be served and a DJ will provide tunes.

Mr. Man: A Men’s Only Pop-up
6–9 PM, November 16 and 11 AM–5 PM, November 17
The Good Mod (1313 W Burnside)
The newly opened West Burnside space will host a men’s shopping event (yes, ladies are invited, too), with Friday night booze tastings, food and a photo booth. The fun continues the next day with a day of shopping, workshops and football.

A Night of Mo’s
6–11 PM, November 18
Blitz Pearl (110 NW 10th Ave)
Head to the Pearl District sports pub for a benefit auction with items from the Timbers, Adidas, Widmer, Sector 9 and more.
