Jupiter Hotel hosts Izakaya Japanese Pub Fest, Nov. 16

Jupiter Hotel hosts Izakaya Japanese Pub Fest, Nov. 16

Japanese pub culture isn’t so different from that here in PDX — bar-goers celebrate quality food, drink and company, without a lot of rules or restraint. On Friday, November 16, the Jupiter Hotel (home of Doug Fir) will host an evening dedicated to that concept during Izakaya, a Japanese pub fest.

From 5:30–9 PM, guests can roam through several rooms of themed, interactive spaces, such as light installations, and sample a full lineup of Japanese beverages including Ashahi, SakeOne and TY KU. Gigantic Brewing will be on site with a special Japanese-inspired beer made just for the event. More than 10 restaurants will provide appropriate Asian bites to go along.

Providing the soundtrack for the night will be internationally known DJ Satoshi Mukohata, among others, and the first 450 people to arrive will receive a free commemorative sake cup to take home. Tickets will start at $40 per person, and are $45 if purchased after November 2. If you want to stay the evening — and with all that sake and beer, it might be a good idea — can get a combined package with an overnight room at the hotel starting at just $76. Proceeds benefit the 105-year-old Japan-American Society of Oregon.

Event Date: 11/16
Event Time: 5:30-9 PM
Location: Jupiter Hotel
Price: $40 or $45 after November 2
