Come party with us
Drink Portland Launch Party at Mellow Mushroom, May 30

Calling all Portland fans of good drink! Our official launch party is set to take place at Mellow Mushroom in the Pearl, with special offerings for brewheads and cocktail aficionados alike.

From 6–9 PM on Wednesday, May 30, we’ll be holding it down at the Flanders Street pizza house, stocked with giveaways and raffle prizes. On the bar will be a firkin of Firestone Walker Velvet Merlin Oatmeal Stout, a very limited release from the California brewery that is partially aged in bourbon barrels and carries a very rich, roasty flavor.

Other special tappings during the event will include The Stoic from Deschutes, a Belgian-style quad aged in rye whiskey and wine casks (we’re bringing the strong flavors!), plus Wookey Jack Black Rye IPA, also from Firestone (for the hops lovers out there).

On the cocktail side, we’ll be serving a special Bols Genever punch, and here’s where the party gets even better: we’re donating $1 from all glasses of punch and all beers sold (throughout the entire day) to Portland-based nonprofit CreativeCares. If you’re not familiar with Burk Jackson’s company, it matches organizations in need with creatives willing to donate services like design, planning and photography.

The first 25 people through the door will get to take home a free Mellow Mushroom pack, which includes a beer club beer mug, stickers and other freebies. We’ll be tossing out Drink Portland keychain bottle openers, as well.

Both our national and local editors will be in the house, ready to chat about everything great about drinking in PDX, and possibly even assigning some freelance article assignments as we go. So come one, come all, we’re having a party! RSVP below; we look forward to seeing you there.
