Teutonic Winery to Host Pop-Up Shop and Tasting at Its Future Location, Nov. 13-15

Teutonic Wines may not be opening its Portland tasting room until early 2016, but fans of Barnaby and Olga’s wines will be able to visit it early this month. The couple is hosting a three-day pop-up from November 13–15, so folks can beat the rush and get their Thanksgiving wines before the holiday shopping madness begins.

The entire range of Teutonic wines will be on hand including their restrained and elegant pinot noirs, as well as their whites, which show the incredible depth and character that varieties like pinot gris, silvaner, and riesling exhibit from cooler sites in our region. $5 pays for a tasting flight and snacks.

If you are unfamiliar with Teutonic Wines, Barnaby and Olga Tuttle manage vineyards in several outlying Oregon AVAs, all sustainably-farmed and non-irrigated. They use wild yeast propagated from each site, and their winemaking is generally non-interventional. The style is often Germanic, reflecting Barnaby’s deep love of the Mosel region while still evoking Oregon’s terroir. Lower in ABV, higher in acid, and aged in neutral oak, Teutonic wines are perfect to pair with food. Varietals include pinot noir, riesling, gewürztraminer, and more.
