Take a Much-Needed Vacation At These 5 Baltimore Bars

If you can't stand another day of snow, freezing rain or frigid temperatures and need to jump ship for a vacation but don't have the funds, check out these Baltimore bars instead. These lounges and watering holes, with their exotic drinks and novel atmospheres, have the ability to teleport you to someplace sunny and warm and far away from slushy streets of the Charm City.

Kona Grill (1 East Pratt St.; 410-244-8994)
The local branch of this national chain offers an escape from the day to day wintery grind with an all-American menu that draws inspiration from the West Coast and sunny South Pacific. If sipping a Rock Coconut Mojito or a Hibiscus Margarita can’t shake you from your seasonal affective disorder, perhaps some Citrus Melon Punch or Sake Sangria can.

Tatu (614 Water St.; 410-244-738)
For a taste of something a little more exotic, pull up a seat at this Downtown lounge, and let your wintry blues melt away with one of the Asian-inspired cocktails. If the Scorpion Bowl for two can’t brighten your mood, we don’t know what will.

Golden West (1105 West 36th St; 410-889-8891)
Can’t swing a quick getaway to Tulum? Stop in at this Hampden mainstay for the next best thing, a gigantic Aztec burrito and a Margarita.

Woody's Rum Bar (1700 Thames St.; 410-563-6800)
For a quick Caribbean jaunt, check out this Fells Point rum bar and island grill. The bar serves some of the best mojitos, rum runners, caipirinhas and other equatorially inspired cocktails available in the city.

RA Sushi (390 Lancaster St.; 410-522-3200)
For a taste of Tokyo, try Fells Point’s RA Sushi. The sushi bar and restaurant offers an amazing array of libations to compliment its menu of sushi and izakaya specialties. Cocktails like the Dragon Bite, Samurai Cowboy and Shiso Naughty have the ability to lift you out of your frigid weather funk.
